Delegation from the Northeast Asian Studies College Visits Mongolia for Academic Exchanges
From June 5 to 9, 2024, Professor Ba Dianjun, Deputy Director of the Northeast Asian Research Center, together with Professor Xu Bo, Professor Zhao Yang and Associate Professor Xuan Chunji from the Northeast Asian Studies College, visited Mongolia to attend the 9th International Conference on Northeast Asian Security (the "Ulaanbaatar Dialogue") and conducted academic exchanges with the Institute for Strategic Studies under National Security Council of Mongolia.

Launched in 2013, the "Ulaanbaatar Dialogue" is an important multilateral academic forum and policy exchange platform in Northeast Asia, co-hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and the Institute for Strategic Studies under National Security Council of Mongolia. It serves as a venue for countries to exchange ideas, share experiences and discuss cooperation, enjoying extensive influence in Northeast Asia and playing a significant role in promoting regional stability and prosperity. The 2024 conference focused on themes including "Security Challenges and Opportunities in Northeast Asia", "Multilateral Cooperation in Northeast Asia", "Climate Change and Security Challenges in Northeast Asia", "Energy Transition in Northeast Asia" and "Security and Sustainable Development in Northeast Asia". More than 100 representatives from over 30 countries around the world, including China, the United States, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Russia and the United Kingdom, attended the conference. Battsetseg, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony.
During the conference and the roundtable dialogue with the Institute for Strategic Studies under National Security Council of Mongolia, Professor Ba Dianjun, Professor Xu Bo, Professor Zhao Yang and Associate Professor Xuan Chunji delivered academic reports on issues including the regional order in Northeast Asia, the trilateral relations among China, the United States and Russia, global energy transition and the development of new energy in China respectively. Their reports were highly praised by participating experts.


After the conclusion of the "Ulaanbaatar Dialogue" the delegation exchanged with leading officials of the Institute for Strategic Studies under National Security Council of Mongolia on further strengthening inter-institutional academic cooperation, and reached broad consensus on advancing future cooperation.
