On October 11, 2024, Professor Wu Hao, Dean of the Northeast Asian Studies College of Jilin University, met with Professor Alexey Mamechev, Deputy Director of the Department of Political Science at Lomonosov Moscow State University, and held a working meeting.

Professor Wu Hao welcomed Professor Mamechev’s participation in the “Northeast Asia Peace and Development Forum (2024)” and noted that since the signing of the cooperation agreement between the two sides, substantive exchanges have been gradually carried out with positive progress, laying a solid foundation for the full implementation of the agreement. He expressed his expectation that this visit would further promote consensus on specific cooperation projects between the two sides.

Professor Mamechev conveyed the best wishes of Academician Shutov, Director of the Department of Political Science at Lomonosov Moscow State University, for the “Northeast Asia Peace and Development Forum (2024).” He expressed his pleasure in attending the forum and his expectation of in-depth exchanges with scholars from China and other countries. He noted that the Northeast Asian Studies College of Jilin University is one of the most important partners of the Department of Political Science at Moscow State University, and expressed hope to further advance substantive cooperation in academic exchanges and talent cultivation within the framework of the cooperation agreement, thereby providing a stronger platform for mutual development.

During the meeting, both sides had in-depth discussions and reached consensus on jointly organizing academic conferences, cooperating on joint training programs for graduate students and co-publishing research outputs. They agreed to continue consultations on specific details.

The Department of Political Science at Lomonosov Moscow State University is one of the most influential institutions for political science research and talent cultivation in Russia. It has a number of academicians from the Russian Academy of Sciences and is deeply involved in the policy making process of Russia. Since the signing of the cooperation agreement in 2023 between the Northeast Asian Studies College and the Department of Political Science at Moscow State University, both sides have actively promoted the implementation of all provisions of the agreement, so as to advance the development of area and country studies and international political science disciplines and significantly improving talent training.

Zhu Beibei, Deputy Director of the Office of Global Cooperation and Exchange, Wang Yanjun, Vice Dean of the Northeast Asian Studies College, Chen Yingzi, Vice Dean of the Northeast Asian Studies College, and Professor Xu Bo from the Northeast Asian Studies College participated in the meeting.
