Research Team from the Institute of Japanese Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Visits the Northeast Asian Studies College and the Institute of Japanese Studies of Jilin University for Research
On August 12, 2023, a research team from the Institute of Japanese Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences—comprising Researcher Bai Ruchun, Associate Researcher Lu Hao, Associate Researcher Li Qingru, and Associate Researcher Chen Xiang—conducted a field study visit to the Northeast Asian Studies College of Jilin University, and the Institute for Japanese Studies. Professor Pang Deliang, Director of the Institute for Japanese Studies at Jilin University, presided over the research meeting.
During the meeting, Professor Pang Deliang provided a comprehensive overview of the history and development of the Northeast Asian Studies College, including disciplines, talent cultivation, and international exchanges. Associate Professor Zhang Yuguo, Professor Chen Zhiheng, Professor Wang Yuqiang, Associate Professor Chen Zhiguo, Associate Professor Li Hongmei, and Associate Professor Xu Bo from the Institute for Japanese Studies engaged in in-depth discussions with the visiting research team on topics including the development of Japanese studies as a discipline, the international strategic landscape, China–Japan relations, and the construction of a national high-end think tank under the Institute for Northeast China and Northeast Asian Studies framework. The meeting also included a book donation ceremony for The Heisei Era: A Thirty-Year Trajectory and Outlook for Japan's Development and Selected Papers on Japanese Studies: 1981-2020.
