Time flies and seasons pass swiftly; once again, it is graduation season. On June 25, 2024, the Northeast Asian Studies College of Jilin University held its 2024 Graduation Ceremony and Degree Conferral Ceremony in Dongrong Building. Members of the college leadership team, heads of each department, faculty representatives, and all graduating students attended the ceremony, which was chaired by Zhao Yibo, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Dean of the College.
Before the ceremony officially began, students representatives Wang Yining and Jin Yilin performed a duet of “Not Saying Goodbye,” evoking memories of the graduates’ beautiful campus life. Students waved their hands to the music, immersed themselves in the melodious tune, and bid farewell to their university years.
At the beginning of the ceremony, all attendees stood up to sing the national anthem.
Second, Vice Dean Cui Jian read out the list of outstanding graduates, presented certificates, and posed for group photos with the awardees.
Third, Vice Dean Liu Hanjun announced the list of Employment Model Award, presented certificates, and posed for group photos with the awardees.

He noted that 2024 marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Jilin University’s area and country studies institutions and the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Northeast Asian Studies College of Jilin University. He congratulated the graduates on completing their studies at this important historical juncture and offered three expectations: first, that they strive to enhance certainty in their personal development in such an era of uncertainty; second, that they remain steadfast in their dreams and move forward courageously in life’s journey; third, that in an era that emphasizes individuality, they should carefully observe the world and respect and understand others. Finally, he wished them less anxiety and hesitation, more ideals and practical action, and a bright future as they pursue their dreams.
Amid the resounding university anthem, the 2024 Graduation Ceremony and Degree Conferral Ceremony of the Northeast Asian Studies College came to a successful conclusion. Graduation is not an endpoint but a new beginning. Carrying knowledge and blessings, the students set sail, leaving the harbor of the college and heading toward the shore of their dreams. Each strives along his own path, yet the same wind carries us across a thousand miles. May the graduates achieve academic success, professional accomplishment, self-transcendence, and extraordinary achievements.
