On September 15th , Learning from History and Progress with Society, a sub-forum of the 2021 International Conference on Cooperation in Industry, Academia, Research and Application(Changchun), was held at Jilin University, Humanities and Social Sciences Key Research Base of Ministry of Education, co-organized by the Northeast Asian Research Center of Jilin University, Northeast Asian Studies College of Jilin University, and Jilin University-Moscow State University History Research Center. The opening ceremony began with a message from the President of Moscow State University, Academician Viktor Sadovnic. Academician Sadovnic pointed out that the project Russian History Translation Series, translated by the Northeast Asian Studies College of Jilin University and published by the Chinese Social Science Literature Publishing House, played an unparalleled role in promoting the latest achievements in Russian historiography, and looked forward to more in-depth exchanges and cooperation between Russia and China in education and scientific research.

After the opening ceremony, Academician С.P. Karpov, member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Chairman of the Council of Heads of History Departments of Russian Universities, former Dean of Faculty of History, Moscow State University, Meritorious Professor, Honorary Professor of Jilin University, gave an academic report on the topic of Incentives in Imperial Russia and the Soviet Union. The report told about the mechanism of social rewards and social promotion in Russia, taking the various types of Russian medals over the centuries as a clue. The academic presentation was hosted by Professor Zhang Guangxiang, Professor of Northeast Asian Studies College of Jilin University and Director of Jilin University-Moscow State University History Research Center, with the participation of experts and graduate students from inside and outside the university both online and offline.
